HOW TO ACTIVATE THE PILOT OF INTENTION?

To activate the Tafti Intention Pigtail, you need to do five consecutive steps.

1. Wake up and enter the point of awareness. Let me explain with an example. Four lane road. In the same direction - two lanes. You are driving in the left lane. There is an emergency vehicle 100 meters ahead in your lane. If you continue driving at the same speed, in the same direction, an accident will occur. Or won't happen. There is a "dangerous situation" here. You can calmly, even without slowing down, change lanes to the right, turn off, stop 50 meters away, etc. There is no traffic hazard.

There is a “danger to traffic” at the moment when there is a minimum distance to the emergency vehicle in order to have time to stop without resorting to emergency braking, which in itself is dangerous. In this case, the traffic rules prescribe only to slow down, the maneuver is unacceptable.

"Danger to traffic" may occur earlier. For example, in the same situation, there is a dense stream to your right, and any maneuver is excluded. You must slow down immediately, and only then turn on the turn signal and wait for someone to let you pass.

Thus, "danger to traffic" occurs at a time when a safe maneuver is not possible. And to draw a conclusion from the wording of clause 10.1 of the SDA that in the event of any danger it is always necessary to slow down - stupidity. Such a position excludes the use of a car, since it is initially a source of increased danger, and even a simple start of movement is already dangerous in itself.

If the driver in the above example misses the moment of occurrence of a danger to traffic, the situation turns into an "emergency" - no braking will save from a collision.

Let's summarize the above example.

If the driver in a dangerous situation drove around a standing car on the right, turned into the yard or turned around in the absence of markings, then there is no punishment.

If he drove into the oncoming lane instead of a detour on the right, then he is guilty of violating clause 9.2 of the traffic rules.

If the driver, at the time of the danger to traffic, tried to make a detour, he violated the traffic rules, as he could fulfill the requirements of clause 10.1 of the traffic rules.

A violation also occurs if the driver, having missed the moment of the escalation of the danger for movement into an emergency, makes a maneuver, as he knew and realized in advance that he was able to fulfill the requirements of clause 10.1 of the SDA.

With such a development of events, the combination of “traffic hazard” and “emergency” into a single term, as is done in the SDA, is quite appropriate.

The moment of transition of a dangerous situation into a danger for movement and the moment of transition of a danger for movement into an emergency situation are purely individual in each specific case. For example, the driver's reaction time according to various sources is from 0.3 to 1.8 s, which at a speed of 60 km/h (16.7 m/s) gives a spread in the distance traveled during the driver's reaction from 5 to 30 meters. The deceleration of an ordinary car is unlikely to be less than 7 m / s2, for a modern car with a hint of sportiness, a deceleration of 11 m / s2 is far from the limit. If it comes to examination, then the experts are first of all asked whether the driver could stop before the obstacle or not? In the first two cases (“dangerous situation” and “danger to traffic”), the driver’s fault in the accident is beyond doubt.

The greatest controversy arises when the situation on the road immediately becomes "emergency". Can you maneuver?

My purely personal opinion: yes and no!

Why yes"? The rules in paragraph 1.5 of the SDA prescribe: "Road users must act in such a way as not to create danger to traffic and not cause harm." If the maneuver made it possible to avoid harm, or to minimize it, then it does not contradict the traffic rules, especially since the traffic rules do not contain a direct ban on maneuvering in an emergency. Moreover, in the SDA there are indications of a maneuver, including in the definition of danger to traffic, given at the beginning of the article.

The concept of "emergency" here, quite possibly, has a slightly different meaning.
